E119 on a Baxi means the water pressure in the heating system is too low for the boiler to run. Check the gauge. When cold, you are usually looking for around one bar, and the manual gives the exact figure.

Top up with the filling loop as the manual describes, then reset. If it needs doing again soon, the question is where the water is going.

In rented Coventry homes, a loss of pressure is often reported late. Tenants top up and say nothing, and the leak keeps going. Telling the landlord early saves a bigger repair later.

What's involved

Our Baxi E119 Fault Code in Coventry

Look before you fill

Note the reading first. A slow drift down over months is normal. A drop in days is a leak.

The filling loop

Baxi boilers use a filling loop or a built-in key. Open slowly, stop at the right pressure, and close it fully.

Outside the house

A dripping pipe through the wall usually means the relief valve or expansion vessel, not a leak inside your walls.

Stopping it recurring

Finding the leak once costs less than the corrosion that months of refilling causes.

What the engineer does

They check the gauge against the vessel pressure, test the relief valve, and look at every valve and joint they can reach. The result is a named cause, not a guess.

What to send us

A photo of the gauge, one of the pipe outside if it drips, and a note on how often you refill. Tell us if the home is rented, so we can include the landlord.

Good to know

Baxi E119 Fault Code questions

Is E119 dangerous?

No. Low pressure only stops the boiler running. Smell gas? Leave the house, do not use switches, and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999. A fault code is never a gas leak, but a smell always is.

I topped up and it still shows E119.

Reset after filling. If it persists with a good pressure reading, the pressure sensor itself may be the fault.

Is it worth fixing an old Baxi?

Usually, for a pressure fault. It says little about the rest of the boiler.

What affects the cost of an E119 repair?

Whether it is a sensor, a vessel or a leak. Each is a different job. You are told which one it is, and what it involves, before anything is fitted.
